Posh v Sunderland

Post by tonyp » 27 Aug 2019, 21:40

Sunderland have been allocated 4000 tickets and had sold over half before their last game.
They will be visiting London Road to witness a loss to the mighty Posh.
I hope there will be a few more Posh fans there than against Ipswich and we could see more than 12,000 there.
Tough as this game is likely to be I see us scoring big. 4 or 5 to their 1 or 2.

According to beteasy, Posh are 2.62 to 1, Sunderland 2.46 to 1 and a draw 3.20 to 1.
Presumably they think Sunderland are favourites. But it is pretty close.

If they only bring, say, 3,000 then we could even have less than 11,000 there if only the regular poshies (7,000 ?) turn up.
On Easter Monday last season the attendance was 11,277 (3,782 Sunderland fans)
Not an easy one to predict without some inside information.

Wycliffe says on the other board
They are talking of returning around 700 tickets
So, it looks like less than 11,000 total attendance.

Maddison (36' minutes, 64' minutes), Knight (52' minutes)
and Sunderland are down to 9 men.

I like the Rotherham manager's comment.

'I always think it takes around six games to really see where you’re at, so with this halt in play, that has put that back a little bit.
We had sixteen points after our first six League One games last season, so I'm not sure what can be usefully taken from the Rotherham manager's comment.
I don't think he was comparing to the Posh last season.
Im not even sure he's right. I just like his comment. After six games this season we might have a better idea of where we're going.

Another wonderful performance from our great team, all fourteen played well with Maddison once again man of the match. Can we play you every week, but please do not go down to nine men we can't score against nine.

A great game of football. Maddison, Boyd, Reed and the Referee all joint men of the Match. Third goal in particular very special.

The annoying thing, I knew we'd scored a third before the ball went down the other end it looked fantastic until Boyd got the bal on the edge of the area, then my interweb decided to play up, next time it came up they were all back by the centre circle grrrr
