Chris Turner Statue

Post by Wycliffe » 05 May 2018, 08:23

We are pleased to announce that the landscaping around Chris will start to be laid on Tuesday. Also the ducts etc will be in place for the lighting to be fitted over the next few weeks.
Plans are afoot for an information area nearby too.
Thanks everyone for your support.

Sorry mods but can't find original link to statue, please move if I am just having a senior moment.

Ok.

Landscaping been done and looks great.
However. for those who may go see it sometime soon there has been an accident and a large chunk has been taken from the corner of the front section. of the plinth.
It is being dealt with between ourselves and the builders and obviously we are gutted beyond belief.

Sadly it is not as easy to repair as we would like so something major will need to be done.
The plan was to have the lighting sorted soon which may well still happen but obviously what has happened has taken the wind out of our sails somewhat.

The plinth will be back to normal as soon as we can get it sorted.
Thank you for your concern and rather than pontificate about the blame etc let us sort it and sort it properly.

No need to post any gratuitous photos of the damage thanks.

We will keep you updated.

Thank you as ever.

Of course. I noticed the problem today and, as you say, it is really gutting to see what has happened. My thoughts go out to the committee after all their hard work and to Lyn too.
