After Pakistan's home win against NZ they and Bangladesh have 7 points to England's 8. England therefore must win at least one of their remaining matches as Pakistan and Bangladesh play each other so one of them will get 2 points from that one. As Pakistan play the Afghans in their final match , a near certain win for them, it means that England will probably need to win both. They will need to improve a great deal to do that.

Yes.
Assuming Pakistan do beat Afghanistan on Saturday they will then be on 9 points with the one game left.
If England can come good and beat India on Sunday they will be on 10 points. (Pakistan will be shouting for India! How ironical is that?!)
England have to beat New Zealand because Pakistan are likely to beat Bangladesh.

Stokes catch was incredible.
Bit of an understatement Gaz,
That catch could end up as the Catch of the series!
But there have been a few since then.
Including these-

Another great contribution from Ben Stokes and England end with 337 from 50 overs.
That is going to be a tough score for India to beat.
Pakistan fans will be shouting for India.

It was funny as the whole of the sub-continent was shouting for India today!
As well as India's unbeaten run gone now, Sri Lanka's hopes have ended, Bangladesh's hopes have diminished and Parkistan's hopes have greatly reduced.
This now brings New Zealand's semi-final qualification into question.
I guess this result doesn't suit any other country!

Could it be that India's "go slow" in the final overs was because they didn't really want Pakistan to qualify for the semis? They came up only 31 runs short with 5 wickets in hand ; with a more positive attitude instead of just jogging singles they could have won.

Exactly! India would prefer to have England in the semis than Pakistan.
India have allowed England to have a chance of making the semi finals.
India only have to beat Bangladesh or Sri Lanka to make the finals themselves.
England must beat New Zealand. (But NZ will want to win to ensure their own place in the semis)
If England lose, Pakistan will overtake them if they beat Bangladesh.
If, on the other hand, Bangladesh win both their games they could still make the semis.
Net run rate could come into it.
What an intriguing end to the series.

I think India would have loved to play Pakistan in the semi-finals (if that scenario could have happened), as they seem to have the beating of Pakistan!
Surely they would have beaten England if they could? England are much more of a danger to their hopes of winning the World Cup!
At the end I think Dhoni was surely protecting his damaged thumb - and the other dangerous batsmen had been dismissed.
They were maximising their net run-rate rather than throwing away more wickets.

I found the Sky commentary extremely biased towards India yesterday. It was like I was watching it on Mumbai TV.

I'm all for neutral comments and a mix of English & Indian commentators is good, but not when all you hear is how good every single Indian player is and just the odd comment about England.

England are favourites (with the bookmakers) to beat New Zealand today.
Australia, India, England and New Zealand are favourites to make the semi finals.
Australia and India are favourites to make the Final.
Australia are favourites to win the Final.
England must beat New Zealand for a start or hope that Pakistan don't beat Bangladesh.

119/0 Great start from England but might need a massive total here.

I'd bring Stokes in next ahead of Root & Morgan to keep the momentum going.
