Re: Posh v Sunderland

If you think that Woodyard, Ward and Dembele are the answer then I don't know what the question is ! Neither Woodyard nor Ward can create anything of much consequence and Dembele is a little boy of undoubted talents who can only see what is going on a couple of feet in front of him. As for picking ...

Re: Posh v Sunderland

I feared that the combined absence of Woodyard, Ward and Dembele would cost us in terms of the amount of chasing, challenging, tackling and closing down that they do. That doesn't appear to be the case. If you think that Woodyard, Ward and Dembele are the answer then I don't know what the question ...

Re: Posh v Sunderland

In no particular order.... The absence of Sunderland's top-scorer Chris Maguire didn't do us any harm. I noticed that Dembele hurried down the tunnel at the end of the game, Aaron McLean called after him, obviously encouraging him to join his team-mates in enjoying the plaudits of the fans on the pi...

Re: Bolton Wanderers

I am concerned about potential inequity regarding Bolton this season. Currently, teams have been enjoying five-goal feasts on Bolton's approximation of a professional line-up. Later on in the season, other teams may struggle to achieve comparable results against a (presumably) strengthened team.

Re: Posh v Sunderland

And after seven games, we might have a better idea of where we're going. And after eight....repeat and fade. Eventually, we'll be reminded that 'time will tell'. Now, that sounds familiar. Quite correct John. And after 44 games we'll know how we went! Time will have told. I think that any 'state of...

Re: Posh v Sunderland

We had sixteen points after our first six League One games last season, so I'm not sure what can be usefully taken from the Rotherham manager's comment. I don't think he was comparing to the Posh last season. Im not even sure he's right. I just like his comment. After six games this season we might...

Re: Posh v Sunderland

A great game of football. Maddison, Boyd, Reed and the Referee all joint men of the Match. Third goal in particular very special. I didn't see anything especially admirable in the third goal: from where I sat, it looked like a follow up to a blocked Boyd cross, with the ball possibly taking a sligh...

Re: Posh v Ipswich

I like the Rotherham manager's comment. http://www.theposhforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=19&p=457456#p457456 'I always think it takes around six games to really see where you’re at, so with this halt in play, that has put that back a little bit. We had sixteen points after our first six League One gam...

Re: Posh v Ipswich

Overall? We'll be fine Define 'fine'. In so much as we will be there or thereabouts come the time it matters. The team isn't (even after last night) quite there but some who were doubted are improving which is important. A couple of players namely Mason who deserves it and Reed who probably doesn't...

Re: Posh v Ipswich

It's all about opinions Gaz and to suggest that their opinion differs from yours and then to pontificate that they have 'no understanding of the game whatsoever' is ridiculous. It is an ego filled comment. You are welcome to forward your opinions but please don't diminish the comments of others. FW...

Re: 13/08/2019 v Oxford (EFL away)

Played 3 lost 3 Oxford twice and Fleetwood not exactly a difficult start on paper ! What is the problem ?. If you ask Gaz it’s because Evans left and Fergie is nowhere near as good. If you ask someone with one iota of common sense they’ll point out that we have had some unbelievably bad luck like l...

Re: 10/08/2019 V Oxford (away)

The notion that a manager should not be held accountable for the on-field performance (stupid or otherwise) of his players is an interesting one. Giving away three avoidable goals doesn't preclude the team challenging for a draw or a 4-3 victory. As was intimated earlier in the thread, After Fleetwo...

Re: Past and Present Players

Grant McCann is, of course, the current manager of Hull City.

Last season LDSL's Championship experience was limited to a single twenty-minute substitute appearance. Thereafter, he went on loan to League One Gillingham, where he made fourteen appearances, rattling in one goal during that stretch.
